Church Council
The LCI Church Council provides leadership for matters of church policy and finances. The Council consists of nine LCI members, elected by the congregation to staggered three year terms, plus the Pastor. The Council generally meets monthly on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Meetings are held in the LCI library from 6:30-8:30 PM and are open; i.e, all LCI members and friends are welcome to attend.

I’ve been a member of LCI for 30 years. My passions are youth ministry and social justice. I currently serve as the president of the LCI church council. I enjoy the outdoors, movies and cycling.
Karen and her family have been members at LCI since moving to Davis in 2007. She and her husband Tom have two adult children, Tommy and Catherine. Karen is a school psychologist in the Davis school system, and has enjoyed working with children from ages preschool through high school. Since joining LCI, she has been active in the Worship and Music Committee, the Sanctuary Renovation Task Force, and with singing in the choir. She is also a board member of The Belfry, the Lutheran-Episcopal campus ministry at UC Davis. Spare time fun for Karen includes singing with the Davis Chorale and camping trips with Tom.
Kathryn Schnaible is a lifelong Lutheran who is a graduate of California Lutheran University, the University of Paris, Middlebury College, Harvard University, and the Episcopal Divinity School. She is retired from teaching French, but still enjoys speaking it when she gets a chance. She currently works as a Director of Insurance Services with Northwestern Mutual.

Kenny has attended LCI since 2018 and is involved in various LCI service groups in addition to being on the Church Council. Kenny attended UC Davis and earned a degree in Atmospheric Science in 2012. After working in the Bay Area for a few years, Kenny enthusiastically returned to Davis and currently holds the position of Senior Air Quality Specialist at the Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District. Kenny and his wife, Courtney, were married at LCI and their son, Lewis, was baptized at LCI. In addition to enjoying the outdoors and exploring Northern California, Kenny enjoys roasting coffee at home, outings to the Wednesday/Saturday Davis Farmers Market, taking vacations to the beach, and spending time with family.
I am a lifelong Lutheran and daugher of a Lutheran pastor. I have attended LCI since 1973. I have a degree in vocal performance and have been active in adult, childrens and bell choir as director, community theatre and opera chorus. I currently work as a nurse supervisor and am preparing to further my interest in death to be an End of Life Doula. I enjoy reading, gardening, and mostly enjoy time with loved ones. Welcome to LCI!
Over my lifetime, I have been nurtured by many Christian traditions. Raised a Roman Catholic, I
have sojourned with Presbyterians, Episcopalians, United Methodists, and Quakers. My
footsteps led me to LCI at a time when I was eager to return to a liturgy with sacraments,
scripture, and singing as well as to informed Bible study. I have been trained in history, French,
Biblical and pastoral studies, and the art of spiritual direction. Even though most of my work has
been as an administrator, I consider myself primarily a teacher. Being a part of the Social Justice
Committee for the past year has cemented me to this warm and welcoming congregation.
A Sacramento native, raised in the Lutheran Church, I have been involved in worship music since joining in 2005. My other passions are fishing and bicycling. I also enjoy serving on the church council.

Mark and his wife are fairly recent Bay Area transplants to Davis. He has been a member of various Protestant denominations over the years and is relatively new to Lutheranism. He enjoys serving in LCI's choir and on the prayer writing and prayer ministry teams. He works as an applied physics researcher based in Berkeley, though he mostly works from Davis. In his free time he enjoys jogging, reading, and spending time with their cats and chickens.
