Church Council |
Peter Kennedy, President

I have been a member at LCI since 1973. My wife, Debbie, and I have two daughters; Elizabeth and Marie. In my other life, I am an elementary school teacher in the North Sacramento School District. I am the third person from my family to be elected President. If you have any questions regarding LCI, please feel free to contact me via e-mail at: ptkdkk@dishmail.net.

Beth Tanke, Vice President

I have been a member of LCI for one year and a Davis resident for six years. My husband Tony and I are originally from the Midwest, but lived in the Bay Area for 24 years where we were active members of Hope Lutheran Church in San Mateo. A research and clinical psychologist by training, I currently manage Tony’s law practice in Davis.

Kristen Kalbrener, Secretary

I moved to Davis in 2006 and became a regular at LCI in October, a member as of
December of that year.

I am a life-long Lutheran and a graduate of Pacific Lutheran University. (Though at times I have
been Episcopal or Anglican as well. An ecumenical and open-minded approach is very important
to me.) I have served as co-chair of both Stewardship and Social Concerns committees in
Lutheran churches in New England. I led the introduction and acceptance of LWR Fair Trade
project/sales in my previous congregation. I have also served on two homeowner association
boards, and led the Education committee of a professional association when I was working in
Conference Program Management.

My faith and my relationship to God are central to my life. I would like to contribute to LCI and
through LCI. I take being a member of the Christian community very seriously; I draw a lot
personally from being part of LCI. An ongoing and regular commitment as a member of Council
would allow me to support the efforts of other members and from time to time lead introduction
of new efforts by LCI to be a ray of God's light to the world.

I work with International students at UC Davis. I love getting to know new people and new
perspectives in that way, and I like to think that I consciously use those new insights in my
personal approach to life. One of my gifts is administrative service and I have career experience
in corporate, affinity, and educational organizations - experience with project planning, project
budgeting, project marketing, with networking. I have been fortunate to have broad and rich life
experience which I feel can aid me in this kind of leadership role in the congregation.

Lori Bodhiprasart

I’ve been a member of LCI since 1970. I moved to Davis when my father decided to go back to UCD
and finish his Degree in Plant Science. I graduated from Davis High School and later attended
Sacramento State where I earned my bachelor's degree in Business Administration. I also have two
children Dan and Malee. Both are
pursuing their college degrees as well.

I have been a member on Church Council a couple of times before this. The first time was when I was
in College when we called Pastor Moren to LCI. The second time was when Pastor Wong was here.
My leadership experience has been both as a member of this Congregation and also in my career.

I have served on the LCI Financial Committee. I was the chair for the Multi-Cultural Task Group in
response to the “Discerning Directions” process LCI went thru a few years ago. I served as the Church
Council Vice-President the last time I was on Council as well. I chaired the Architect Selection
committee and I also organized last year's women's fall retreat.

I am presently the Project Manager for a process improvement Task Team at Caltrans where I work. I
have also facilitated the strategic planning and operational planning processes for two divisions at
Caltrans.

I am excited about the possibility of serving on LCI's Church Council because I see so much
opportunity and challenge ahead of us. I believe we are called to set time aside daily to pray and listen
to God. I believe that we are God's beloved children and have been given a wonderful gift to share
with our Community and the World, often one person at a time. I also believe that all people are God's
beloved children and have been given gifts to share with the world each in their own special way. I
look forward to continue serving with all of you in the many ways God calls us to be with our family,
neighbors and the larger world community.

Bonnie and I have been a members of LCI since moving to Davis in 1989. We have two grown sons Andrew and Russell and a daughter-in-law Sara, who happily live close by in this region and not to forget Lieber our four paws partner in all affairs. I served previously on church Council for 5 years in the mid 90's. My journey to LCI started with my birth and baptism at Our Saviors Lutheran in Chester, Montana and intervening education and career stops in Montana, Minnesota and Illinois. A lifelong passion of pursuing ways to better food crops lead me on a career in education, research and finally into private business. Until 2006 I was Sr. V.P. of International Research for Seminis, Inc. Most recently I am in a new phase -- semi-retirement where I am serving as a special consultant in strategic planning and business development.
